Lady Patty Classic Yacht Charters will open for business on April 25th, 2014

Hello travelers,

IMG_2966smallThe geese are forming up in Vs to leave, the osprey should show up on the Bay any day now and I, like them, am getting a bad case of the Spring Fever!

The boat yard will be crazy with activity as all of we boat-nuts take the winter covers off and begin this season’s projects. For us that is a pretty major deck job that will be taking place beginning later this month.IMG_2439

We plan to have the project completed by the middle of April so we are calling the 25th the big opening of 2014!

Stop by and offer encouragement at the boat yard or join us for the maiden sail of the year. Either way we look forward to seeing you…Cheers!

Pre-season Beverage Research

Funnel_LyonDistilling_02Hello travelers,

As most of you know, we offer beverage service on board the Lady Patty. You might also know how small the galley is on a 79 year old racer of our type. Clearly we have to make good use of that small space by offering a short but awesome list of libation for our guests. To do that effectively I must do research. It’s work. It can be hard…but somebody has to do it. (yeah my wife isn’t buying it either)

Anyway, I stopped in at the Lyon Distilling Company in St Michaels for a little nipper.. I mean R&D. I tried four different spirits ranging from a white rum to a cask aged rum with a sensational seasonal rum in between. I even tried their “moonshine” and folks..it’s as good as I have had. Ever. Ben Lyon, you sir can cook liquor!

I am super excited to be offering their spirits to my guests this coming season! LDCo fits neatly into my “eat, live, grow locally” philosophy. Thank you Jamie & Ben for making something beautiful with your own hands right here in our quaint little corner of the world.

Cheers!

Early Spring Update from Lady Patty

IMG_1558-2

Hello travelers,

Spring is coming my friends so hold on a little longer!

We will be finishing a pretty major deck job on the ol’ girl as the weather warms up so we probably won’t be open for charters until later in April.

We are excited about 2014 and believe it will be a banner year for Tilghman Island and Lady Patty. E-tickets are available now under the public sailing tab. You should start making your plans now to join us for a real sailing experience aboard an amazing old yacht out on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay!

I look forward to sailing with you.

Cheers!

October Sailing aboard the yacht, Lady Patty

Wow! The weather is perfect for the final two weeks of our 2013 sailing season and you should join us before it’s too late!

This week we are offering two-hour charters on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the usual times (10-12, 1-3 & 5-7).

Next week we will only offer our Friday trips then it’s time for some shore leave for the ol’ captain beginning with TILGHMAN DAY!!!

Saturday October 19th is our local island festival which includes live music, great seafood, miscellaneous vendors, boat docking contest and two of my favorite things, cheap draft beer and the Tilghman Day workboat races!!! Yip! I love it!

Thanks y’all for a fantastic 2013 season! We have met some super cool people and had some awesome sailing adventures. We appreciate all of our guests and look forward to welcoming you back aboard as friends in 2014.

Cheers!

This week aboard the classic yacht Lady Patty

IMG_0897smallHello travelers,

Once again, the mid-week looks questionable but Thursday through Saturday are forecast to be pretty awesome.

Here is what’s happening aboard the Lady Patty. After this week, Lady Patty will only be offering public charters from Thursday morning through Sunday morning. Call 410.886.1127 to discuss private charters for Monday – Wednesday.  Tickets for public charters can be purchased here.

Wednesday- Partly sunny, high of 82F winds South 10-15 knots. We have some room aboard out Champagne Sunset Sail from 6-8.

Thursday-Partly cloudy with a chance of a thunderstorm and a chance of rain. High of 88F. Winds from the SSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50%. The weather is iffy but if it clears up we will be offering our 6-8 Champagne Sunset Sail.

Friday-Partly cloudy in the morning, then clear. High of 75F. Breezy. Winds from the NW at 10 to 20 mph. Perfect breeze for Lady Patty. We will be offering our Afternoon Sail from 1-3 and the always popular Champagne Sunset Sail from 6-8.

Saturday-Partly cloudy in the morning, then clear. High of 68F. Winds from the NW at 10 to 15 mph. Bring a sweatshirt and join us for a perfect, early fall sail. This is my favorite time for sailing! We have room aboard our Morning Sail from 10-12 however the later two trips are private. There will not be public tickets available.

Sunday-We are not offering sails today. Sorry!

Thanks for checking us out. I hope you enjoy your visit to Tilghman Island.

Cheers!
